Item Fabulously stylish mid 40s gabardine coat by Alexon with some lovely details. The coat is just below knee length and has a flared skirt with narrow knife pleats and slanted pockets with welt detail. The upper part has released pleats from the waistline, large shoulders and wide lapels. Full length 2 piece sleeves with turn back cuffs. The coat fastens with a matching buckle belt ( and an inner tie belt) so there is a little leeway with the size - more at the bust than the hips.

Condition I've just had the coat dry cleaned and externally it is in very good condition, but there are a couple of issues. 1) The lining is sturdy but VERY stained, obviously it hasn't come out in the dry cleaning process so it is a permanent feature but at least it is clean dirt. 2) there is a hole in one of the pocket linings..
